Same as the old France.
President Jacques Chirac called today for the immediate transfer of sovereignty in Iraq to the Iraqi people, and indicated that France would approve only a new United Nations resolution that recognized this need.
Wow, the French standing in the way of progress. Again.
When is the Bush Administration going to wake the hell up and recognize what most of us in the conservative blogosphere already know? France isn't our intransigent ally. They are our enemy. Out to obstruct any kind of meaningful reconstruction in Iraq.
If the Bush Administration goes along with Chirac's plan to turn over immediate sovereignty to the Iraqi people, Iraq will collapse back into Baathist Party rule at best, for then we will be right back where we started. Or at worst (and this is the more likely scenario) it will become another Afghanistan, ruled by Islamic Fascists.
This is France's vision for Iraq. Do not doubt for a second they are the friends of democracy, liberty, or freedom anymore.
