UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Citing security concerns after two attacks on its Baghdad offices, the United Nations said on Thursday it was pulling out 19 of its 105 international staffers from Iraq and more would follow.

So they advocate running away when the going gets tough. Awww, poor babies. The United States has been putting up with attacks like this since, what, May? The UN is in Iraq for only a month, and they up and run off, but yet morons like Daschle, the Ten Little Indians, and France, want a larger UN role in Iraq. Sure, let's let the UN come in, make a mess of things, and then -- when they get attacked, they can pull out everyone and let Iraq fend for itself against the Islamists. Sure, sounds like a great idea. Excuse me Mr. UN Advocate, but just what in the blue hell are you smoking, and where can I get my hands on some?

The decision to withdraw international staff, even temporarily, was a blow to U.S. claims the security situation in Iraq was under control.

Read the fine print? What they are saying is that is the entirely the fault of the United States that the UN is getting attacked, and not say..oh.. the fault of the terrorists themselves. The bottom line here is this. Is the security situation in Iraq perfect? No, to say otherwise would be disingenuous. However, the United Nations knows it isn't perfect, but they sent people in anyway. And when those people get targeted, they blame the United States for mis-representing the over-all security situation in Iraq in the first place. See how that works? News flash for you there Kofi, this isn't a war against the United States per se, but rather a war against Western Civilization as a whole, for which the UN is seen by the terrorists, however erroneously, as being a part of. If you think your people should be safe, just because they work for the UN, you are completely deluded.

The United Nations proves yet once again, that when the going gets tough, they go run off and avoid the problem. They did it with the Iraq War in the first place, and they are doing it again. To turn the management and reconstruction of Iraq over to the UN in it's entirety would be a mistake of colossal proportions.

The United States is on the ground in Iraq, we have endured far worse casualties than the UN has, and we are still there. I think it is quite clear just who is really serious about giving the Iraqis a better life.
